Slovakia generated in 2014 321 kg of municipal waste per capita and 282 kg per capita was treated. 6% of it was recycled, 6% composted, 12% incinerated and 76% landfilled (EUROSTAT).
Producer responsibility EPR is applied to packaging, waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), end-of-life vehicles (ELV), batteries and accumulators (B&A). The compliance can be achieved by signing a contract with a Compliance Scheme. Recycling Fund was abolished in December 31, 2016.
